FATHERS DAY STYLIN’

imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

Hello lovelies

It’s finally Spring baby and we’re kicking this glorious season off with a fathers day celebration.

Although we’ve kept it a low key event at home, I didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity to get a little dressed up. Most weekends I tend to look very casual and today wasn’t too different except I decided to pretty up my casual t-shirt slash hi-tops look by adding in a lovely pleated maxi skirt. As a result, a sporty and feminine look was born.

All these clothing items are old. However, if I do inspire you to create a similar look then I’m pleased to say that maxi skirts, t-shirts and hi-tops are readily available to purchase in most commercial fashion stores.

Happy fathers day to all the beautiful men and thanks for coming by. Xx

A LITTLE VINTAGE

Hello gorgeous

I hope that you have had an amazing weekend. For me, it’s certainly nice to have a break from work and more time with my little family.

This beautiful photo set was taken by my husband before I set out for a massive high tea eating fest with my girlfriends at the Conservatory, Crown. It’s absolutely freezing in Melbourne and indeed a coat is needed but I figured that I was going to be indoors anyway so didn’t bother with it.

High tea calls for a lady like outfit and since I don’t get dressed as often as I use to, I wanted to put together an outfit that I had never worn before. The result was a dreamy vintage look.

Outfit breakdown (All items are old)
Black maxi pleat skirt by Forever New (similar here) | Floral Cardigan by Sunny Girl | Pumps by Nine West | Vintage handbag from Lost and Found Marke | Necklace from asos

I hope you love the outfit. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the week ahead.

Hello gorgeous

I have recently come home from a whole seven days in paradise without my little family!

Agreed that taking a holiday with your friend instead of your family is not everyones idea of a relaxing holiday but it was a simple decision that my husband and I agreed on months before I returned to work earlier this year. That is, I would take time off while hubby looked after our little angel and vice versa. We both felt that it would be healthy for all of us. Trust me, I know how extremely fortunate and lucky I am to have this just work for us. As my friend mentioned on the trip – your husband is one in a million.

On the trip, we spent most of our time in Waikiki and both had so much fun finding it to be one of the best trips. During the day it would be a little time to relax then go, go, go and in the evening before dinner, I would Skype home to check in, say hi and good night to my little one.

There was so much to love about Oahu. The kind people, strong cocktails, warm weather, gorgeous beaches, blue water, green flora and never ending amount palm/coconut trees in full view. To my surprise, I found Waikiki to to be unbelievably family friendly with late sunsets, space for prams, kid friendly menus and loads of water activities to keep the little ones occupied.

Independence day happened to be our final day in Hawaii and my friend and I decided to do not much except hang around with the locals and lay under palm trees at Ala Moana Beach Park. The day ended with a fireworks spectacular which was amazing. It was the most wonderful way to top of our trip. We didn’t however look forward to our 3.45am wake up call for the flight home the next day.

Until next time.. and next time, the whole family will be going.

Thanks for reading. xxx

PREPPED UP

Day 84 – All prepped up!

I first fell in love with the preppy look when I started watching Gossip Girl and saw how perfectly preppy Blair Waldorf looked.

This week I have decided to use Blair Waldorf as my style inspiration and show you my take on looking preppy for work rather than school. It’s also a great excuse to make use of my neglected glasses.

This is the first of a few outfits that I have put together for this week. Hope you love.

FLOWER POWER

73 days into my NY’s resolution

Flower Power

I completely agree!  The amount of dresses I own is absolutely ridiculous. So much so that I could make this week a theme about midi floral dresses, which I found perfect for our scorching ‘summer’ heat.

I do gravitate to gorgeous flowy floral dresses as I find they are always fashionably stylish, comfortable and you can get away with having it as your 9-5 look. With the busy prints, I decided to pair the dresses with some simple shoes and jewellery. If styled correctly, you can definitely get away with pairing these dresses with bolder shoes and more accessories. I also find these dresses versatile enough to wear in winter with some tights under your favourite coat.

You can find some beautiful floral numbers herehere and here. Enjoy and I hope that you liked this weeks post.
