Hey lovers

Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with My Boutique, an online store owned and operated by local Victorian Dani. My Boutique was founded in 2010 and stocks deliciously fashionable clothing, jewellery, accessories and homewares. The best part is, nothing is over $100 so it’s all absolutely affordable.

Through styling some of their current season pieces, I also had the honour of getting to know a little more about Dani, her online store and where she draws her inspiration from.

In three words, describe yourself

Passionate, ambitious, positive.

Tell us about My Boutique and the inspiration behind creating your own online business

I’ve always loved fashion but never thought I’d end up in the fashion industry. My parents run their own business and I’ve always learnt good business practice and buying skills through them. My business started as hobby but over the past year it is quickly becoming more than that! Online seemed like the way to go as I was (and still am) working full time when I started My Boutique – I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What are some of your most popular/favourite pieces in the My Boutique collection?

My most popular and favourite would have to be my Harper skirts. They are the perfect mid-length skirt that is flattering on anyone. I love the Onyx print the best and it seems my customers do too!

Where do you draw your style inspiration from?

Everywhere! My travels, Instagram, my friends and basically anywhere I go. I’ll see a cute style of clothing or a colour that pops out at you and I create it into my own flavour.

Can you give us a little insight into what we can expect as part if the AW collection?

My Boutique won’t be doing an AW collection this year. There are even bigger and better things coming for Spring/Summer so I’m trying to utilise the break over the cooler months to prepare myself for another expansion of My Boutique. Watch this space.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start their own business?

Keep at it. There’s going to be times where you make little to no money and things can seem like they’re getting nowhere. All you need is passion and patience and everything else will follow.

Playsuits and jumpsuits are a great summer staple and then there’s this amazing laser cut clutch which comes in an array of gorgeous colours and designs. Both from My Boutique which I’ve decidedly styled with a biker jacket, platform boots and hair bow for that edgy retro feel. Head over to to shop their collection.

Hello lovers

Dressed in everything old (except hat), it was all smiles during this photoshoot as we prepared to head overseas on a much needed family trip.

In the days leading up to our trip the weather was so warm and sunny in Melbourne that a part of me didn’t want to leave. I dreaded the European winter and any challenges that we were going to face with a toddler in tow. Although now that we are here, we’re having a blast and loving the quality family time. It also seems we’ve brought the sunshine to London and Paris with us. Here’s hoping it follows us to Barcelona.

In these final weeks of this year, I have decided to go all out on the accessories. You have all seen the amount of clothes I own so now it’s time to show you my bling. Hopefully I will provide you with some styling ideas.

Like most girls, I’ve always loved accessorising. However, since becoming a mum, it’s mostly been with hats, bags and shoes. Apart from the odd occassion, I didn’t bother with jewellery since I gave birth to my daughter until recently. She’s now 20 months old.

Yesterday, I decided to pair a beautifully beaded gold and turquoise statement necklace with a feminine floral dress and some chunky heels. The outfit reminded me of when Jessica Alba stepped out in her Dolce and Gabbana dress. Obviously I look nothing like her but I hope you can see the outfit similarities?

I'm wearing: Dress from Asos | Heels by Michael Kors | Statement necklace by Pam Hiran. Tot is wearing: T-shirt & Shorts by Best & Less | Shoes from Big W

When you haven’t hit the shops to purchase any new clothes in the last 6 months you start to blend in your summer and winter wardrobe. So if this outfit looks a little confused to you that’s the only excuse I have to offer aside from the fact that I love to experiment with the clothes I own.

Today’s outfit combination just works for me. Not because of the way it makes me look but more because of the way it makes me feel. The satisfaction of making the most of all my clothes and not caring about the weather or if the look I bring forward is in fashion or not.

I will forever remember this very day. My friend and I had a full day with the locals at Ala Moana beach park. We did sweet nothing but lay around, listen to some close by tunes and people watch until the evening fireworks bonanza.

Hello sweets

Thanks for coming by.

These pictures were taken on my recent trip to Waikiki Hawaii. As you can see from these photographs I really made the most the time I had to relax. The water there is so gorgeous and blue so going in for a swim and splash is an absolute must. Beach beds and umbrellas are readily available for hire on the beach so you can sunbathe all day long if thats your thing. The hire rates are extremely reasonable and there are hotties there to set it all up for you. All they ask is that you pick a spot.

The patterned bathing suit in these pictures are quite old and purchased during my pre pregnancy days. I never thought I would be wearing them again since I gained over 20 kilos during my pregnancy.  However here I am embracing my post baby body in paradise.

Todays style inspiration comes from Beyonce who does the most fabulous job in showing off her curves in a playsuit.

This little number is quite short so I have thrown over a vest to keep the look a little more modest.
