Hello all

Recently while web surfing on Asos I came across the perfect snapback and also layed eyes on a turban with studs. I just knew I had to have them both so in the shopping cart they went.

Mid week I rocked in to work wearing an outfit that covered me from head to toe for our teams Christmas lunch. I knew I was going to look overdressed but really wanted to create a unique yet festive look for the occasion. My outfit reminded some of the older ladies in the office of Dianna Ross and the disco era, so naturally I started to sing ‘I will survive’.

Then last night while dining with some girlfriends I described my Christmas lunch outfit using the words all black, maxi skirt, long sleeve top and turban with studs. Coming from a corporate work environment they could’nt believe their ears let alone picture me in it so I gave them a sneak peek. Now I am showing it to you. Thoughts?

Only 18 days until Christmas all. Send me your blog links in the comments section and show me what you are wearing this festive season. I’d love to see them.

Once again thanks for reading and lets bring on the season to be merry.

Hey all

Last Saturday these photographs were taken before I headed for a girls night out. When we were younger a girls night out would have involved clubs, lots of alcohol and bedtime in the early morning but now we opt for a chick flick followed by dinner. We aren’t old…we just prefer to devote our energy to other things in life now.

I’m wearing: Boilersuit by Asos | Hi-tops by Nike | Fabric Oversized Bag | Coat by Emanuella Y. | Beanie from Asos
Tot is wearing: Dress by Carters | Top and leggings by Cotton On Kids | Shoes by Vans

While baggy clothes and sneakers are generally the make up of my weekend style, it was easy to see that my look is unique within my close friendship circle. For instance they’d never wear hi-tops and a boilersuit let alone have a side shave hairstyle. I on the other hand could never rock a mini body con dress, get away make-up free or have waist length luscious locks to show for.

Occasionally, an old photo of us comes out and we laugh at how daggy we once were even though it seemed so trendy at the time or more recently notice how much we have aged. As we have aged, our looks have matured and so have we. We are all so much more confident and comfortable in our own skin and what we wear. I love that we are all so different and if we were all to exhange wardrobes for a day I’d be certain that our outfits would still reflect our personal sense of style.

Do you notice the style variety within you close friendship circle? I want to hear about it.

As always thanks for reading and I hope you love these photographs that I hold dear to me.  Now lets all enjoy the freaking weekend.

p.s Only 45 days of my New Years Resolution left. Let the countdown begin baby.

I am normally not one for colours. In fact, my wardrobe could be stripped right back to just black, white, grey and blue.  However, I felt that the working week needed to start off with a colour less dull than the weather of late.

Whilst I had selected a blue blazer the night before to wear over my outfit, I decided to ditch it for my neglected bright fuchsia coloured coat. The colour combination was perfect and I stood out like a highlighter at work.

I can’t help but feel proud when I make the effort to wear something I normally wouldn’t because it’s a step towards meeting my new year’s resolution.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you love this outfit.

Today I celebrated a belated birthday lunch with my besties. Over lunch we talked about the upcoming trip to Hawaii and how great the shopping is going to be. This led to me confirming my committment to not buy any new clothes as I have more than enough. That said I’d love a new designer bag. Needless to say, my girlfriends were impressed with my attitude and mentioned how well I have done in the past 5 months. In fact I think the conversation even inspired them to think twice about compulsively shopping. I love that I inspire others to make the most of what they have.

You don’t need new clothes to look good or stay fashionable. Just be confident in your own sense of style. I think I am a living example of just that.

Thanks for reading. Xx

Black on black on black isn’t foreign to me, however layering chains is. I absolutely love this concept. Not only does it break up all the black I am wearing, it also provides a more edgy punk look. I can’t wait to layer these chains with a more casual outfit.

Thanks for reading and hope you are having a great week so far.
